Teaching

"Experience is, for me, the highest authority. The touchstone of validity is my own experience. No other person's ideas, and none of my own ideas, are as authoritative as my experience. It is to experience that I must return again and again, to discover a closer approximation to truth as it is in the process of becoming in me."
-Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person

My teaching philosophy is to b
e eclectic. Lecture sometimes, listen often, create both individual as well as collaborative learning situations, engage students. Arouse their passion and curiosity and trust them to learn what is important and meaningful yet guide them to develop their critical thinking skills.

You will find my personal experience in the sub-page 'Teaching experience'. If you are looking for some education yourself, check out the 'Free Educational Resources online'-page.

Well-Being in Higher Education

"Imagine how higher education might be transformed if measures of psychological well-being were used to strengthen the positive mental health of students and faculty."

This website provides assessment services for students, faculty, and institutional researchers. For individual students or faculty it gives each person a graphic display of their results, interpretative information, and suggestions for steps to be taken to strengthen their well-being. Institutional researchers can customize the well-being inventories by adding any respondent identification or survey questions they deem worthwhile. Then they can give passwords only to those students or faculty who are the focus of their research. As participants complete the inventories a unique database is created for each institution that an institutional researcher can query online or download for statistical analyses.
